A device and method for verifying the matching of simultaneous edits for a markup language-based document, according to the present invention, may provide assistance so that predetermined edit command sets are simultaneously applied to a markup language-based document through simultaneous edit sessions, and tags of the markup language-based document for which editing has been completed in each edit session are compared in order to determine whether the tags of the document from each edit session match with each other, and thus a developer may determine whether a currently operating algorithm for supporting the simultaneous editing of a document is properly supporting simultaneous editing for edit commands included in corresponding edit command sets.
