A medical device and method for its use in the digestive system of a mammalian patient is provided. The medical device includes a stent (22) and a retrieval device (24). The stent has a magnetic element (30) connected to an end of the stent. The retrieval device includes a magnetic member (34), and the retrieval device is sized to be ingested by the patient.
