A shield removal device (20) for removing a shield (10) from a needle assembly is disclosed. A tubular member (22) has a lower end (24) and an upper end (26) dimensioned to receive a shield (10). The tubular member (22) includes an inner wall having at least one gripping element (36) with a notch (40) providing a flex point (42) upon the gripping element (36). The flex point (42) enables the gripping element (36) to flex radially outwardly to receive the shield (10) and permanently clasp the shield (10) to withdraw the shield (10) from the assembly.Linvention concerne un dispositif denlèvement de capuchon servant à enlever un capuchon dun assemblage. Ce point dinflexion permet à lélément de prise de sinfléchir radialement vers lextérieur pour recevoir le capuchon et demprisonner le capuchon de manière permanente afin de le retirer de lassemblage.
