The medical device includes a stent (22) and a retrieval device (24).The stent has a magnetic element (30) connected to an end of the stent. The retrievaldevice includes a magnetic member (34), and the retrieval device is sized to beingested by the patient. The magnetic member is capable of being magneticallycoupled to the magnetic element of the stent for removal of the stent through thenatural forces of the digestive system.
