PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cultivation methods and cultivation apparatus of plants such as Glycyrrhiza uralensis, a medicinal herb, whose roots are used, the methods and apparatus being able to improve the commercial value of roots while enhancing production efficiency.SOLUTION: A cultivation apparatus consisting of a plurality of cultivation cylinder 1 containing soil and a supply pipe 2 supplying nutrient solution is used. The cultivating cylinder 1 comprises a main body portion 11 in which a ridged portions 11A bulging inwards and extending in the vertical direction are arranged in the circumferential direction and a cylindrical upper end portion 12 having two pairs of circulation holes 12A. A soil 15 is put till the upper end of the main body portion 11, and the inside of an upper end portion 12 is left as an upper end air gap portion 14. A supply pipe 2 having a sufficiently smaller diameter than the hole 12A is inserted and passed through each of the pair of circulation holes 12 A, and a nutrient solution is dropped into each cultivation cylinder 1 from the supply hole 21 of the supply pipe 2. Each ridged portion 11A extends from the upper end of the main body portion 11 in the cultivation cylinder 1 to the vicinity of the lower end, that is, the entire length of the area where the soil 15 is put, without an interruption portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】薬用植物のカンゾウ(甘草)などの、根を利用する植物の栽培方法及び栽培装置において、根の商品価値を高めるとともに、生産効率を向上できるものを提供する。【解決手段】土を入れた複数の栽培筒1と、栄養液を供給する供給管2とからなる栽培装置を用いる。栽培筒1は、内側へと膨出して上下方向に延びる畝状部11Aが周方向に配列された本体部11と、2対の流通用の穴12Aを備える円筒形の上端部12とを含む。土15は、本端部11の上端まで入れられ、上端部12内は、上端空隙部14として残される。各対の流通用の穴12Aに、それぞれ、穴12Aより充分に径の小さい供給管2が挿し通され、供給管2の供給孔21から栄養液が、各栽培筒1内に滴下される。各畝状部11Aは、栽培筒1における本体部11の上端から下端部近傍まで、すなわち土15が入れられる領域の全長にわたって、断続部なしに延びる。【選択図】図1
