Powered ophthalmic device comprises: a lens having an optic zone and a peripheral zone surrounding the optic zone； insert positioned within the lens and occupying at least a portion of the optic zone. Insert comprises: optic zone of the insert； one or more interconnection structures mounted to the optic zone of the insert； and one or more flexible flaps connected to the one or more interconnection structures by means of one or more flexible electrical connections attached to one of the one or more interconnection structures, wherein one or more flexible flaps is configured as mounting and support structures for one or more electronic components.
