PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bactericide, a bactericide preparation liquid, a detergent composition, a bleaching agent composition that are relatively inexpensive and have an excellent sterilizing effect, and a sterilization method.SOLUTION: The bactericide contains component (A): a fatty acid having two or more unsaturated bonds in the hydrocarbon chain and/or its salt, component (B): a transition metal and/or its compound and component (C): hydrogen peroxide and/or an inorganic peroxide. The content of component (A) is 0.2-10 mass%.
