PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stent delivery catheter in which the drop or the movement of a stent does not occur in the case of inserting a balloon catheter mounting the stent into a narrowed part without complicating manufacturing steps due to the increase in the number of components and to the increase in a working man-hour.SOLUTION: The stent delivery catheter comprises a foldable balloon having a distal end and a rear end and having a cylindrical shape straight tube part at the distal end and truncated conical shape tapered parts at the distal end side and the rear end side of the straight tube part. In the catheter, specific relationship is satisfied between the thickness T1 of the substantially central part of the distal end side tapered part and the thickness T2 of the substantially central part of the straight tube part and between the thickness T3 of the substantially central part of the rear end side tapered part and he thickness T2 of the substantially central part of the straight tube part, and when the stent is arranged in the contracted state on the outer surface of the folded balloon, the movement of the stent in the catheter axial direction is suppressed by the distal end side tapered part of the folded balloon and the rear end side tapered part.COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO【課題】 部品点数の増加や加工工数の増加による製造工程の煩雑化を伴わずに、ステントが装着されたバルーンカテーテルを狭窄部まで挿入する際にステントの脱落や移動が発生しないステントデリバリーカテーテルを提供する。【解決手段】 先端部と後端部を有し、先端部には円筒形状の直管部及び直管部の先端側及び後端側に円錐台形状のテーパー部を備えた折り畳み可能なバルーンを有し、先端側テーパー部略中央部の肉厚T1と直管部略中央部の肉厚T2の間、後端側テーパー部略中央部の肉厚T3と肉厚T2の間に、特定の関係が成立し、折り畳まれたバルーンの外面にステントが収縮状態で配設された時に、折り畳まれたバルーンの先端側テーパー部及び後端側テーパー部により、ステントのカテーテル軸方向への移動が抑制されることを特徴とするステントデリバリーカテーテルを構成した。
