PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter with which a central portion and both end portions of an effective expanded part of the balloon can be ensured easily during manipulation and thus therapy effects can be increased.SOLUTION: A balloon catheter 110 includes a contrast marker part 160 indicative of a region on which an effective expanded part 115 of a balloon 110 is projected in an axial direction of an inner tube 130. The contrast marker part includes: a first contrast portion 161 indicative of a central portion 151a of the effective expanded part in the axial direction a second contrast portion 162 indicative of a boundary 115b between the effective expanded part a distal tapered part 111a and a third contrast portion 163 indicative of a boundary 115c between the effective expanded part and a proximal tapered part 113b.
