The device has two rotary scrubbers (2, 3) that are driven by a motor (8). The scrubbers are arranged respectively at two height-adjustable scrubber heads (7, 9) in such a manner that an orientation of rotational axes (4, 5) of the scrubbers is adjustable within an approximately vertical plane. A scrubber heads-height adjustment device is coupled with a scrubbers-rotational axes- changing device in such a manner that the orientation of the rotational axes of the scrubbers changes continuously but not uniformly.
