The present invention relates to a method for optimizing a pulse sequence (S) for a magnetic resonance imaging system (1), including the steps of: adopting a plan gradient pulse train (PZ), which is executed to match with a wireless frequency pulse train (RF) in a chronological order to control an RF transmission system of the magnetic resonance imaging system (1), to control a gradient system (4) of the magnetic resonance imaging system (1) determining a plan gradient moment (PGM) for an optimized segment (EB) of the determined plan gradient pulse train (PZ) having [sic] the optimized segment (EB) determining an actual gradient pulse train (RZ) which can be actually performed for the optimized segment (EB) of the determined plan gradient pulse train (PZ) determining an actual gradient moment (RGM) for the actual gradient pulse train (RZ) determining an error gradient moment difference (DGM) between the actual gradient moment (RGM) and the plan gradient moment (PGM) and changing the actual gradient pulse train (RZ) to optimize a size of the gradient moment difference (mDGM) between the plan gradient moment (PGM) and a gradient moment of the changed actual gradient pulse train (mRZ).
