An absorbent material comprising: a fibrous material containing a plurality of individual fibers forming a fibrous matrix; a plurality of absorbent fibers; wherein a plurality of absorbent fibers are embedded into the fibrous matrix by needle-punched method. The absorbent material of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of individual fibers has a fiber diameter in the range of 11 μm to 100 μm. The absorbent material according to claim 2, wherein each of the plurality of absorbent fibers has a fiber diameter in the range of 10 μm to 40 μm. The absorbent material of claim 3, wherein each of the plurality of individual fibers has a fiber diameter of at least 1 μm greater than the fiber diameter of each of the absorbent fibers. The absorbent material according to claim 1, wherein the fibrous material has a thickness before incorporating a plurality of absorbent fibers into the fibrous material, wherein the absorbent material has a thickness after the incorporation of absorbent fibers into the fibrous material.
