A live organism product is provided for application to a host targetwhere the organisms are maintained in a dormant state. The dormant state isobtained by suspending the organisms in a liquid carrier which issubstantiallymoisture-free. The carrier is comprised of oil, an adsorbent and polymers andtheviable organism with the polymers maintaining the viable organism insuspension inthe carrier. The product is stored and shipped in a plastic bag and is sprayedonto itstarget host which may be the feed or forage for the animal or the animalitself. Themoisture and pH available at the host then activates the organisms.
