A medical image display method includes: a step of displaying a first image by rendering the volume data of a target object in a first direction a step of displaying a viewer tool to generate a second image which is rendered in a second direction, different from the first direction, onto the first image, wherein the viewer tool represents the cross section of the target object a step of generating the second image by rendering the sub volume data included in the volume data in the second direction indicated by the viewer tool and a step of displaying at least a part of the second image.
