PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image forming system which can efficiently read out radiation image information recorded on an accumulative fluorescent substance panel with no difficulty.
SOLUTION: An X-ray source controller 22 prohibits radiation of the X-ray by an X-ray source 16 when a cassette detection sensor 44 or a panel detection sensor 58a-58d detects that a cassette 24 is loaded in a reader 26 or an accumulative fluorescent substance panel P is housed in the reader 26, thereby avoiding generation of a fog in the accumulative fluorescent substance panel P.
