To provide a method for improving the yield of an elastin-originated peptide obtained by enzymatically decomposing the elastin.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the elastin-originated peptide is provided by finely cutting meat containing the elastin, then alkali-decomposing the same, recovering the insoluble material by filtration and adding thermolysin and papain to the insoluble material for performing the decomposition of the elastin. As the meat containing the elastin and the heart bulbus arteriosus of a tuna is used. After adding the thermolysin and papain to the insoluble material and the obtained material is heated at 65 to 70° C and then at 80° C.
