PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator operable to send out positive ions and negatively-charged water fine particles from two circulation channels, which is arranged so that even in a case where the positive ions and the negatively-charged water fine particles are significantly different in life, the balance of positive and negative polarities in the air can be kept for a long time by making the amount of the short-life positive ions sent out larger than that of the long-life negatively-charged water fine particles.SOLUTION: The ion generator comprises: a blower 3 for sending out air; a pair of circulation channels 21 and 22 for dividing the air sent out by the blower 3 into two air flows, and leading the air flows in the same direction to send out the air flows to the outside; an ion generating part 4 provided on one circulation channel for generating positive ions only by means of corona discharge; an ion generating part 5 provided on the other circulation channel for generating negatively-charged water fine particles by means of electrostatic atomization phenomenon; and a throttle part 27 provided on the one circulation channel 21 for making the air flow running through the one circulation channel 21 faster than the air flow running through the other circulation channel 22 in velocity.【課題】寿命の差が大きい正イオン、負極性の帯電微粒子水が二つの通流路から放出される場合であっても、寿命が短い方の正イオンを、寿命が長い方の負極性の帯電微粒子水よりも多く放出することができ、空気中の正、負極性のバランスを長時間に亘って保つことができるイオン発生機を提供する。【解決手段】送風機3が送出する空気を同方向へ個別に通流させて外部へ放出する二つの通流路21,22の一方に、コロナ放電だけで正イオンを発生するイオン発生部4を配し、他方に、静電霧化現象により負極性の帯電微粒子水を発生するイオン発生部5を配し、一方の通流路21に絞り部27を設けて、当該一方の通流路21を通流する空気の風速が、他方の通流路22を通流する空気の風速よりも速くなるようにした。【選択図】図3
