The nursing bed is provided with means for cleaning the patient lying on the bed without moving the patient from the bed. The bed comprises a plurality of inflatable cushions fixedly attached to a foundation and means for cleaning a patient with a moving brush and a recess below the patient's back. At least a part of the cushion comprises one or more drainage passages made thereon in order to allow the water and soap to flush downwards from the bed. The foundation is generally flat. The base on which the cushion is attached forms a mattress on the bed.
