PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine that a patient is getting up without introducing a highly developed image recognition technology or limiting behaviors of health care providers and visitors.SOLUTION: A watching area for determining that a patient lying in the bed has got up is set right above a bed including the patient lying in the bed and an image pickup area including the watching area is picked up by a camera from the side of the bed. When a value showing a size of an image area considered to be a patient occupying the watching area of the picked up image obtained from the camera is below an initial value showing the size of the image area considered to be a patient occupying the watching area of the picked up image obtained from the camera in the state that the patient is lying in the bed, it is determined that the patient is getting up. Thus, it is not determined that the patient is getting up even when the health care providers and visitors are falsely recognized as a patient and the fluctuation value is equal to or smaller than the initial value.COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT【課題】 高度な画像認識技術を導入することなく、医療従事者や見舞い客に行動の制限を与えずに、患者が起床挙動を行っていることを判定できるようにする。【解決手段】 ベッドに寝ている患者が起床挙動を行ったことを判定するための見守り領域を、ベッドに就寝している患者を含むベッドの直上の領域に設定して、ベッドの横方向から見守り領域を含む撮像領域をカメラにより撮像し、カメラから得られる撮像画像の見守り領域に占める患者と思われる画像領域の大きさを示す変動値が、患者がベッドに寝ている状態でカメラから得られた撮像画像の見守り領域に占める患者と思われる画像領域の大きさを示す初期値未満である場合に、患者が起床挙動を行っていると判定するようにしているので、医療従事者や見舞い客を患者と誤認識して変動値が初期値以上になっても患者が起床挙動を行っていると判定しなくなる。【選択図】 図2
