PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article capable of exhibiting a smart external appearance without giving discomfort to a wearer, and allowing persons with weakened grip strength due to aging to easily dress/undress it.SOLUTION: The underpants type absorbent article includes an inner wrapper body including an absorption member, and an outer wrapper body including a surface to which the inner wrapper body is fixed and defining a waist opening part. The outer wrapper body in which at least a part of the waist opening part periphery is formed of a stretchable sheet, where a stretchable film and a first nonwoven web are superposed, includes a fold-back part folded back to the front side, at a part around the waist opening.
