PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article which hardly generates unexpected deformation of an absorber in an absorbent member and can maintain high absorptivity even when the absorbent member is fixed to an exterior body using a stretchable sheet in which an elastic film and a non-woven web, which is a surface material, are laminated.SOLUTION: An underpants type absorbent article comprises an exterior body that includes, at least in one part, a stretchable sheet part in which a stretchable film and a first non-woven sheet are laminated, and an absorbent member fixed to the exterior body. The stretchable sheet part of the exterior body comprises a stretchability control area that includes a first portion including the stretchable film and the first non-woven sheet, and a second portion where the stretchability is reduced as compared with the first portion by breaking at least a part of the stretchable film. The stretchable sheet part of the exterior body has an overlapping area which overlaps with an absorber in a front view of the underpants type absorbent article.
