PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water storage type sterilizer which allows the reservoir water level in a treatment tank to be changed corresponding to the amount of objects to be processed, so that water can be saved and the processing time can be reduced.SOLUTION: The sterilizer includes a treatment tank 2 in which objects 3 to be processed are accommodated and a hot water storage tank 5 in which hot water to be fed into the treatment tank 2 is reserved. The objects 3 to be processed accommodated in the treatment tank 2 are immersed in the hot water for heat sterilization. Subsequently the hot water in the treatment tank 2 is replaced with cooling water, so that the objects 3 to be processed are immersed in the cooling water for cooling.
