The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of dry eye containing a novel peptide as an effective component, and more particularly, the peptide generates dry eye tears induced by drought stress. In addition, it has been confirmed to exhibit an effect of improving the smoothness of the corneal surface and suppressing the detachment of corneal epithelial cells, the reduction of conjunctival goblet cells and the production of inflammatory factors.
