The present invention provides a method and apparatus for controlling a network connection state of a terminal. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring total remaining traffic and time information corresponding to total remaining traffic information; determining a monitoring time period according to the time information; calculating in real time and determining whether the actually used traffic of a terminal exceeds the total remaining traffic within the monitoring time period; and controlling the terminal to disconnect from the network when the calculated actually used traffic exceeds the remaining traffic.
