A balloon and a longitudinal scoring wire 135 for scoring vascular lesions attached to the distal end of the shaft. The scoring wire is disposed above the balloon and disposed inside the shaft. The proximal end is welded or otherwise attached to a spring mounted in the handle. The balloon expands when fluid is delivered to the balloon through the expansion lumen. This swelling forces the scoring wire against vascular lesions. The scoring wire is attached to the vibration source.
