A wheeze identification device based on bi-orthogonal wavelet filter banks is utilized for identifying wheeze of lung sounds of a patient, comprising a lung-sound signal processing unit, a characteristic signal acquisition unit, and a wheeze identifying unit. The lung-sound signal processing unit is for receiving the lung sounds of the patient and generating a corresponding sound signal. The characteristic signal acquisition unit includes a plurality of bi-orthogonal wavelet filter banks for allowing the sound signal to pass through the plurality of bi-orthogonal wavelet filter banks so as to obtain a characteristic signal of the sound signal. The wheeze identifying unit is for calculating relative wavelet energy of the characteristic signal.
