PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope equipped with illumination which saves a space and uniformly illuminates in directions of side surfaces.
SOLUTION: The endoscope is equipped with a flexible surface light emitting body 7 as an observation light source, and the flexible surface light emitting body 7 is provided in a part of an outer circumference of the distal end portion 2 of the endoscope 1 and in the circumference of the rear observation opening part 6 of a front-rear complete periphery observation optical system for observing the complete periphery of the endoscope.
