PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope which matches an illumination range and an observation range by expanding the illumination range of illumination light emitted from one light emitting part provided on a distal end portion of the endoscope to the periphery of an observation window to enable excellent observations, and an endoscope system.
SOLUTION: The endoscope 1 includes the observation window 9 constituting an observation optical system 20 at the distal end portion 5 of an insertion portion 2 and the light emitting part 8 which is an illumination optical system 30 for emitting illumination light to illuminate an observation region. A columnar illumination range converting part 10 formed of a transparent optical member to make the illumination light emitted from the light emitting part 8 enter is provided on the distal end portion 5. The illumination range converting part 10 includes an opening 44 for exposing the observation window 9 to the outside, the first reflection surface 41a of a reflection plate 41 which at least circumferentially reflects the illumination light entering the inside of the part 10 at the part 10 to alter an optical path of the illumination light, and a second reflection surface 41b which makes the illumination light travelling inside the part 10 by multiply reflecting exit outside after the illumination light is reflected by the first reflection surface 41a.
