A nonaqueous electrolyte for a high-voltage lithium-ion battery and a lithium-ion battery. The electrolyte comprises a nonaqueous organic solvent, a lithium salt, and a double-nitrite compound selected from the structural formula 1, n being a natural number from 1 to 4. The nonaqueous electrolyte for the lithium-ion battery contains the double-nitrite compound shown in the structural formula 1, so as to form a complex together with cathode metal ions on the surface of a cathode material. Therefore, catalytic oxidation decomposition reaction on the electrolyte caused by the metal ions is suppressed, and the interfacial properties of the cathode material and the electrolyte are improved, so that the high-temperature storage and cycle performance of the battery is improved.
