PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical tool permanently exhibiting excellent surface lubricability when using by strongly fixing various kinds of polymer base materials and a surface lubricating layer in a simpler technique.SOLUTION: The medical tool whose surface has lubricability when getting wet has: a base material layer at least a surface of which comprises a polymer material a compound carried on at least a part of the base material layer and having a plurality of thiol groups in a molecule and the surface lubricating layer covering the compound having the plurality of thiol groups in the molecule and comprising a hydrophilic polymer having reactive functional groups, wherein the medical tool is characterized in that the compound having the thiol groups is carried on the base material layer by emitting ionized gas plasma including oxygen, and the surface lubricating layer is bonded to the base material layer by reacting the compound having the thiol groups and the hydrophilic polymer having the reactive functional groups.
