In one aspect, the present invention relates to a composition for delivery ofdouble stranded RNA to an insect havinga basic pH within its alimentary canal, wherein the composition comprisesdouble stranded RNA adsorbed onto a clay complex, andwherein the clay complex is configured to release the double stranded RNA atthe basic pH. Other aspects of the invention relate topreparations including the composition of the invention, methods of deliveringdouble stranded RNA to an insect and methods ofprotecting a crop against an insect.
