PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means to enable production of a high-quality grafted seedling which has a high survival rate and high yield even when there are variations in the size of a scion seedling or stock seedling or in the thickness or diameter of the stem part of the seedlings.SOLUTION: A sorting apparatus 1 includes a placing table 2 for original seedlings before sorting, a camera 3, a controller 4, first to third placing tables 5 to 7 for original seedlings after sorting, an original seedling transferring head 8, a tray storing shelf 9 for original seedlings before sorting and first to third tray storing shelves 10 to 12 for original seedlings after sorting.
