A method of manufacturing a delfable paper sheet, disintegrable paper sheet, use of the sheet for producing a roll support mandrel and a mandrel of at least one of said sheets. The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a paper sheet in water comprising a step of preparing a paste by suspending paper fibers in water, forming the sheet with the paste, and a drying step. The process is characterized in that it consists in adding, before the drying step, a starch which is not soluble in water, at the temperature at which it is incorporated, and in drying the sheet containing the starch at a temperature sufficient to gelatinize at least a portion of the starch and render it soluble in water so that the sheet is disintegrable. The resulting sheet can be used for the manufacture of a roll support mandrel by helically wrapping around a cylinder of one or more strips from said sheet.
