PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article the skin-facing surface of which is excellent in dry feeling and from the back surface sheet of which liquid is difficult to seep out.SOLUTION: An absorbent body 4 contains hydrophobic material subjected to hydrophilizing treatment. A plurality of through holes 7 passing through the absorbent body 4 in its thickness direction are formed at portions located in an excretion part-facing region P of the absorbent body 4. The absorbent body 4 has a laminate structure where a plurality of layers 5, 6 are laminated in the thickness direction. In the lamination structure, a lower layer 6 nearest to a back surface sheet 3 has a high Klemm water absorption height measured according to JIS P8141 relative to the upper layer 5 nearest to a surface sheet 2. The back surface sheet 3 includes moisture-permeable film having a lot of fine pores. A portion located in the excretion part-facing region P at the skin-facing surface 3a of the moisture-permeable film is subjected to water repellent finish to form a water repellent part 30. The ratio of the total area of a part subjected to water repellent finish to the area of the excretion part-facing region P is 30-60%.
