PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner which satisfies the demands of having high decomposition speed, enabling decomposition of low-density contamination substances, using no harmful substances, having no harmfulness of a decomposition product or intermediate substances, and preventing deterioration in performance, and further allows small increase in an air temperature.
SOLUTION: Disclosed is the air cleaner 1 which chemically decomposes polluted substances in the air, and includes: an electromagnetic wave generation means 2 which generates electromagnetic waves accelerating the chemical decomposition and a catalyst substance 4 which generates heat by the electromagnetic wave.
