It is intended to provide a method of using a cosmetic which provides an excellent immediate effect and is capable of significantly confirming an effect such as improvement of wrinkles, lift-up effect, improvement of clearness, hair growth or antiinflammation； and a cosmetic which can be prepared as an oil-based cosmetic while maintaining a moisturizing effect which is exhibited by a polysaccharide of white wood ear fungus and further can exhibits the above effect after a pressure treatment. The method of using a cosmetic of the invention comprises subjecting a cosmetic to a pressure treatment at 50 to 190 MPa for 15 minutes or longer while heating, and applying the cosmetic after the pressure treatment to the skin or hair within 8 hours after the pressure treatment.Further, the cosmetic of the invention is prepared by blending a polysaccharide of white wood ear fungus with polyoxybutylene polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene glyceryl ether.本發明之課題在提供可以顯著確認速效性優異，改善皺紋、弄平皺紋、提升透明感、養毛、抗發炎症等效果之化妝料之使用方法，及保持能顯現白木耳多糖體萃取物之保濕效果下，可調製成油性化妝料，更在加壓處理後能獲得上述效果之化妝料為其目的。本發明之化妝料之使用方法，將化妝料在50~190MPa以加熱15分鐘以上之加壓處理下，在加熱處理後8小時以內塗佈該加壓處理後之化妝料於皮膚或毛髮上。又，本發明之化妝料乃調配以白木耳多糖體萃取物、聚氧化丁烯聚氧化乙烯聚氧化丙烯甘油醚而製成。
