PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly convenient and flexible medical illumination device which includes an illumination mechanism capable of highly efficiently supplying light and is equipped with a liquid crystal display unit having a function as a mirror and an image display function for smoothly introducing and assisting a visual recognition required for various scenes in medical examinations, being usable for a plurality of applications despite a single device and capable of responding to various techniques.
SOLUTION: This medical illumination device L is provided with an illumination section 3 having a light source portion and a light source support portion, a handle section 5 allowing the position adjustment of the illumination section to an intended position, and a liquid crystal display unit 6 attached near the illumination section and having a display device switched between a monitor function and a mirror function. The liquid crystal display unit is designed to move and retract according to an attitude and a purpose in use.
