PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: an excellent device and a method for providing the inside of an eyeball with an IOL (intraocular lens) are needed.SOLUTION: An intraocular lens introduction device 10 comprises a cylindrical housing 15 that comprises a plunger 32 longitudinally arranged within the cylindrical housing. An electric drive system 38 makes a tip 25 of the plunger engaged with an insertion cartridge 20, and longitudinally moves the plunger in parallel so as to discharge an internally-arranged intraocular lens in the state of folding it and introduce the folded lens into a crystalline capsule of an eyeball. A control circuit 100 is configured to start parallel movement of the plunger depending on user input, detect at least one fault condition on the basis of a back electromotive force generated by an electric motor 42, and stop the parallel movement of the plunger depending on the detected fault condition.
