The present invention relates to a composition for treating neuroinflammatory diseases comprising a complement component 8 gamma protein or a fragment thereof, and more particularly, the effect of reducing the expression of inflammatory cytokines in microglia. The present invention relates to the use of complement component 8 gamma or fragment thereof for treating neuroinflammatory diseases. The composition of the present invention is effective in reducing Alzheimer's abnormal behavior and reducing the secretion of neuroinflammatory cytokines in brain microglia, which can be very useful for the prevention or treatment of neuroinflammatory diseases.본 발명은 보체 성분 8 감마(Complement component 8 gamma) 단백질 또는 이의 단편을 포함하는 신경염증성 질환 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 미세아교세포(microglia)에서 염증성 사이토카인의 발현을 감소시키는 효과를 나타내는 보체 성분 8 감마(Complement component 8 gamma) 또는 이의 단편의 신경염증성 질환 치료 용도에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 조성물은 알츠하이머성 비정상적 행동양상을 감소시키고, 뇌 미세아교세포에서 신경염증성 사이토카인의 분비를 감소시키는 효과가 있어 신경염증성 질환의 예방 또는 치료제 개발에 매우 유용하게 활용이 될 수 있다.
