The present invention relates to a composition comprising orosomucoid 2 (ORM2) for preventing or treating of neuroinflammatory diseases, and a composition for diagnosing the neuroinflammation. The ORM2 of the present invention inhibits the activation of microglial cells by reducing NO level, and reducing the expression of TNF&alpha, IL1&beta, iNOS, IL-6, etc., which are pro-inflammatory factors in the microglial cells, and thereby the ORM2 can be used for preventing or treating neuroinflammatory diseases.
