PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a treatment effect by more securely fixing the pelvis and to save the labor and time of a caregiver in a lumbar traction apparatus which performs the traction of the lumbar at a traction attitude controlled by reclining a chair-shaped frame.SOLUTION: The lumbar traction apparatus includes a belt for fixing the pelvis, an engaging part for engaging one end of the belt to a seat part, a winding part for winding up the other part of the belt, and a belt tension detecting part for detecting the tension of the belt. The belt is worn on a patient and one end thereof is engaged with the seat part and then the belt winding part is actuated to wind up the other end of the belt to make the tension of the belt a predetermined value.
