PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sponge gourd tea allowing to efficiently ingest the active component of sponge gourd leaves, and suitable for mass production.SOLUTION: The sponge gourd tea is obtained by passing through the leaf picking step of picking sponge gourd raw leaves from a sponge gourd plant, the good leaf selecting step of selecting excellent leaves from the sponge gourd raw leaves, the stem cutting step of cutting stems from the sponge gourd leaves after selecting, the washing step of the sponge gourd leaves with cut stems, the leaf cutting step of the washed sponge gourd leaves, the steaming step of the cut sponge gourd leaves, the drying step of the steamed sponge gourd leaves, the powdering step of powdering the dried sponge gourd leaves, the particle size selecting step of selecting from the crushed sponge gourd leaves, sponge gourd powdered leaves with a particle size equal to or less than a fixed particle size, and the packaging step of packaging the selected sponge gourd powdered leaves in a package. It is possible to omit the steaming step and the drying step by using a freeze-dry ultra low-temperature treatment step from the leaf cutting step, and to obtain further excellent sponge gourd tea by adding the roasting step after the particle size selecting step.
