The present application relates to immunostimulatory compounds comprising an immunostimulatory moiety and a peptide moiety. The peptide moiety is not a disease-related immunogen. Furthermore, the peptide moiety has an amino acid sequence in which 75% or less of the amino acid residues are hydrophobic and / or has an isoelectric point of 5 or more. The compounds of the present invention address the problem of systemic distribution of immunostimulants that cause undesirable side effects. The present inventors have found that the physicochemical properties of the immunostimulant can be controlled by covalent bonding to the peptide. Additional physicochemical properties can be modified in a beneficial manner by incorporating additional features.
