The present invention relates to a molding apparatus of a capsule molding device for molding a pharmaceutical and food capsule with gelatin as a raw material. The molding apparatus comprises: a pair of die rolls having a plurality of pockets for molding an outer cover of a capsule, and installed to face each other； servomotors individually installed in the die rolls, and allowing individual operation of the die rolls； and a control portion for controlling operation of the servomotors. The servomotors have encoders which convert information into electric signals by sensing mechanical operation, and allow automatic arrangements of the die rolls by controlling the servomotors in the control portion based on the signals forwarded from the encoders. In addition, the correct location setting of the die rolls makes a pin groove be firstly processed when the die rolls are processed, and then allows locations of the pockets to be arranged based on the pin groove. Therefore, the correct location arrangements of the die rolls for molding the outer cover of the gelatin capsule are automatically carried out by the control portion. The die rolls can be returned to the original location by recognizing unique values for the mechanical locations of the die rolls in the encoders.
