PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bone-like pet food having moderately hard chewability which pet animals prefer, and high safety, adequately containing calcium and other ingredients contained in the whole bone, and having chewing palatability and flavor which pet animals like, and outer appearance close to a real bone.SOLUTION: This bone-like pet food is obtained by setting a bar-like bone marrow part forming body 1, covering minced meat made of chicken white meat or breast meat on the outer periphery of the bone marrow part forming body 1 so as to form a bone ossein part forming body 2, and drying the bone ossein part forming body 2 and the bone marrow part forming body 1 as a combined unit. The bone marrow part forming body 1 is made from a mixture made by adding a binder to a pulverized substance containing the ossein and marrow of livestock animals. The pet food has moderate hardness similar to ossein, and good chewability to be highly palatable to pets, and becomes soft by infiltration of saliva when chewing to be safely eatable without damaging the inner mouth and digestive organ.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】愛玩動物の嗜好する適度に硬質な噛み心地を有すると共に安全性も高く、またカルシウムその他の骨全体に含まれる成分も適度に含有し、しかも愛玩動物の好む噛む嗜好性と風味を有しており、また外観も本物の骨に近い骨状ペットフードとすることである。【解決手段】棒状の骨髄部成形体1を設け、この骨髄部成形体1の外周に鳥肉の笹身または胸肉からなる挽肉を被覆して骨質部成形体2を設け、この骨質部成形体2および前記骨髄部成形体1を一体として乾燥させてなるものであり、前記した骨髄部成形体1は、畜産動物の骨質および骨髄を含む微粉砕物に結着材を添加した混合物からなる。骨質に似た適度な硬さで歯応えのよいペットの嗜好性の高いものになり、しかも噛んだ際に唾液などが染み込むと柔らかくなり、口内や消化器官を傷つけず安全に食することができる。【選択図】図1
