In one embodiment, an apparatus can include a display for displaying the cooking information, a housing, a camera within or retained by the housing and configured to acquire the at least one image of an item inside or on a cooking device. The apparatus can also include a controller that can be configured to display cooking information on the display, and at least a portion of the cooking information can be dynamic based on a variable.
