The invention relates to a cage for transporting European bisons in case of relocation thereof to other zones than the areas of origin. According to the invention, the cage has two side walls () which can swing in their lower half so as to form a ramp permitting the tranquilized animal to be easily introduced therein, the use of the cage with mobile semi-walls serving also to ergonomically position the tranquilized bison with its legs underneath, so that, when the tranquilizer effect ceases, the animal can rise, in the conditions of a cage the main purpose of which is to reduce the animal moving possibilities during transport, the cages being provided with some sliding or swinging safety systems (latches) (), respectively, and some holding systems () intended to allow the animal safe loading and unloading into/from the transportation means, the monitoring of the tranquilized animal being achieved through the rectangular sight hole located at the lower part of the front cover (), as well as through the rectangular sight hole located at the upper part of the right side wall ().
