PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pants type absorbent article having an improved external appearance and/or an improved fitting property of a periphery around a crotch part despite a type dividing an outer cover body into a belly-side outer cover body and a back-side outer cover body.SOLUTION: This pants type absorbent article includes the belly-side outer cover body 2A, the back-side outer cover body, and an absorbent body 3 laid across therebetween, wherein both the outer cover bodies are annularly connected, and further includes, in the belly-side and back-side outer cover bodies 2A, a first belt-like stretchable area G2 stretchable laterally, located in the side of the crotch part C with respect to the position of the end portion 3c of the absorbent body 3 and a second belt-like stretchable area G3 stretchable laterally, located in the side of the crotch part C with respect to the first belt-like stretchable area G2. The first and second belt-like stretchable areas G2 and G3 are formed by disposing an elastic member 24 between two sheets 22 and 23 in an extended state and include, at a part overlapped with the absorbent article 3, non-stretchable parts G21 and G31 which are formed by cutting the elastic member 24, and a pair of stretchable parts, located at the both sides thereof, wherein the non-stretchable part G21 of the first belt-like stretchable area and the non-stretchable part G31 of the second belt-like stretchable area have different lengths L1a and L2a in the lateral direction of the absorbent article.
