PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elucidate the details of components included in the flower part of tea plant (Camellia sinensis (L) O.Kuntze) or Assam tea plant (C. sinensis ver. assamica) in Theaceae, and to develop the use thereof.
SOLUTION: The flower part of the tea plant or Assam tea plant is extracted with water, lower alcohol or their mixture and the resultant extract or its treated products are used as an active ingredient to provide antiallergic agent. Further, the extract or its treated products are used to provide a novel compound.
