PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a charged particle beam therapeutic time by shortening a switching time necessary for switching a layer to be irradiated with a charged particle beam.SOLUTION: A control unit 130, when switching a layer of an object to be irradiated with the charged particle beam, reduces energy of a charged particle beam by controlling a degrader 18 and increases the resistance of a semiconductor 50 serially connected between an electromagnet power supply 27 and an electromagnet 25. The semiconductor 50 increases resistance at the timing necessary when decreasing a current to an electromagnet 25 and can increase a load time constant, so that the time required for the decrease of the current can be shortened. Namely, the switching time necessary for switching the layer to be irradiated with the charged particle beam is shortened, and thereby a charged particle beam therapeutic time can be shortened.COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT【課題】荷電粒子線を照射する層を切り替えるときの切り替え時間を短縮し、荷電粒子線治療の時間を短縮することを目的とする。【解決手段】制御部130は、荷電粒子線を照射する被照射体の層を切り替えるときに、デグレーダ18を制御することによって荷電粒子線のエネルギーを低下させると共に、電磁石電源27と電磁石25との間に直列に接続された半導体50の抵抗を上げる。半導体50は、電磁石25への電流を減少させるときに必要なタイミングで抵抗を高くして負荷時定数を大きくできるため、電流の低下に要する時間を短縮することができる。すなわち、荷電粒子線を照射する層を切り替えるときの切り替え時間を短縮し、荷電粒子線治療の時間を短縮することができる。【選択図】図2
